The classic intro vamp for this tune is Fma7-Gb7, but instead here we do Fma7-Gbma7. This allows us to play longer phrases rather than having to think "resolution-tension, etc" every bar like with Fma7-Gb7.

​Note also the power of RANGE as we explore the middle-high register which is often under-utilized in solo piano. This not only creates an elegant mood but also helps us create an ARC to our intro (aka a clear beginning, middle and end) because now when we bring in the low bass range, that signals we are coming to an end. We cap the intro with a clear rhythmic phrase to signify the end of the intro and that we are transitioning to the head.
