On both intros, notice how:
*all you need is 2 chords *we PAINT, not just play blocks of chords But harmonically, how can we set up a tune that starts on the iimi7 chord (as opposed to most tunes which start on the I chord)? 1) V7sus, V7/ii *aka V7 of the iimi7 (i.e. in the "Everything Happens to Me" example where we went F7sus, G7 to Cmi7). In the key of C, this would be: G7sus, A7 to Dmi7. 2) V7sus, V7 *aka V7 of the main key (i.e. in the "I Fall in Love Too Easily" example where we went Bb7sus, Bb7 to Fmi7/Bb). In the key of C, this would be: G7sus, G7 to Dmi7. |
