3 Short Fill Techniques (I'll Remember April Intro)

The most common intro to "I'll Remember April" is this LH bassline + this RH figure. When the RH figure briefly rests at the end of the 4 bar sequence, we can insert fills. There are a few ways we can approach filling in such a short space:
1) Single Note Riff: drawing from F#min pentatonic to bring out Gma7#11 sound 2) Run: F#BC#F# in 3 successive octaves 3) Octave Stamping: repeating a voicing (BC#F#) in successive octaves This excerpt is from my solo piano recording of "I'll Remember April" from Cactus Sessions.
