STOP ABANDONING your ideas too soon! See how far we take each idea before moving on. 

• Idea #1: descending triads — notice how this idea is developed several times and through multiple chords before moving onto the next. 
• Idea #2: chromatic ascension with rhythmic displacement — followed by connective tissue until the next idea. 
• Idea #3: 4-note motif (1321 shape) — notice how we let this idea come to us; it wasn't forced. We simply took that line ender and turned it into a motif. 

Jazz Improvisation at its best can be like a scavenger hunt, hunting for ideas to turn into motifs.
