As we analyze these 16th note improv lines over “Autumn Leaves” you will notice a few themes:

1) Common shapes & outlines (as well as enclosures & chromaticism to set them up)

2) Maximizing as many notes as possible within 1 hand position (i.e. a lot of 1234-5321 & shapes that fit under the fingers easily)

3) Some anticipation (like arriving to the chord 1 beat or 0.5 beats early)
