When comping for bass players, you can use typical group comping rootless voicings or rooted voicings.
Rhythmically, bass players want their solos to be supported to just like any other soloist. The biggest pet peeve for bass players is for the piano player to STOP COMPING. In the 1st chorus, my approach to the comping rhythms are mainly laying down the groove for Lalyc to fit into. In the 2nd chorus, you hear a role reversal. Where I am listening and reacting to Lalyc's lines: by filling in the spaces and catching onto his quotes.
