A ballad is a wonderful arena to explore chordal improvisation. Check out this unique way that we can approach Chordal Improvisation over "Here's That Rainy Day" where we harmonize SOME notes for emphasis. This allows your melody voice to still be mobile and fluid. Also, this way when you choose to harmonize a note, it gives it the same effect as an accent.
