In Solo Piano, without bass & drums, bringing out the 1/8th Note Subdivisions is crucial. That is what allows the listener to feel the time and this underlying pulse is what allows you to be lyrical in a Bossa Nova setting.

How can we approach bringing out the subdivisions?
1) When the RH is active, the LH fills in the subdivisions not played by the RH
​2) When the RH is not active (holding a note), the LH fills the space with a counterline
