This is one of my favorite motifs when soloing in ¾. It's both a Melodic Motif and a Rhythmic Motif.
Melodic Motif = 2 note enclosure of a target note Rhythmic Motif = eighth-eighth-quarter. This motif also gives us rhythmic displacement in 3/4 by superimposing 2 over 3 (polymeter). This excerpt is from the 2nd A Section of "Changes" (Bijan Taghavi) as played by Bijan Taghavi on TrioGram recorded on 8/30/22 at Recording 8s Studios in Paramus, New Jersey.
