Hear Bijan's Reharmonized Cadenza to "Wave" that master pianist/author, Dan Delaney, said was "EPIC!"
Dan is such a supportive person. Any moment that I had any self-doubt about anything during this Solo Piano Recording Session, Master Delaney would always be quick to lift me up. This is part of what also makes him such a great teacher and musician on the bandstand; his positive attitude and uplifting spirit is infectious and inspired me to play at my best on this special night. I always tell my students to NOT TO JUDGE their playing WHILE they are playing. A healthy amount of self-critiquing is good (because complacency is the enemy of progress), but wait until AFTER to critique your playing, not DURING. Often times, something that I thought was not so great DURING turned out to be something I was happy with AFTERWARDS, and vice versa. I hope you enjoy this musical ride through this rubato cadenza on Antonio Carlos Jobim's "Wave," which capped an incredibly special take. |
