BLUES OUT on a 3625 Progression (TAG Ending on "East of the Sun")

A 3-6-2-5 TAG Ending is one of the most common outros that works for many jazz standards. So rather than ending 2-5-1 we substitute the 1 with 3-6 which allows us to loop back to the 2. There are several ways you can approach playing over a 3-6-2-5. You can:
a) Directly Outline Each Chord Change (i.e. bebop lines), or b) BLUES IT OUT (blanket G blues over the whole progression). Which approach you take depends on the context. This excerpt is from "East of the Sun" from Solo Sessions Vol. 2 recorded in Jan 2024. |
